Team Leader – Personal Injury and Motor Litigation
Direct Line Group is looking for a qualified solicitor to lead our Personal Injury and Motor Litigation Department as a Team Leader on a full‑time permanent basis.
This role can be based from our central Bromley or Leeds offices.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Operational Performance & Strategy, you will lead and inspire a team of solicitors, legal executives and paralegals, delivering effective outcomes for non‑portal personal injury and motor related litigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Accountable for continuously driving performance by setting and delivering on operational and financial targets and monitoring progress.
* Ensure the team meets KPI and audit targets.
* Manage resources across the team to optimise workloads and meet budgetary requirements.
* Drive process adherence and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Provide leadership and direction regarding personal injury claims handling strategy.
* Drive efficiencies and control costs.
* Provide expert, ethical and pragmatic advice and support to clients.
* Monitor and track client satisfaction and complaints to drive improvements.
* Maintain a client‑centric culture and effective decision‑making.
* Work with the COFA and COLP to operate in line with legal and regulatory expectations.
* Drive a high‑performance, positive culture and behaviours aligned with company values.
* Build and maintain relationships within the department and across the business.
* Motivate and train the team, working with the Professional Development Manager to address training needs.
* Develop self to maximise personal contribution to the role and wider business.
Who We Are Looking For
* Qualified solicitor.
* Experience handling personal injury claims.
* Experience managing a technical specialist team.
* A good understanding of relevant law and legal processes.
Working Hours & Contract
35 hours Monday‑Friday. 3 days home, 2 days in Bromley or Leeds office. Permanent contract.
