Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, applying evidence‑based practice and person‑centred care to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings. The post holder is expected to develop relevant clinical skills, knowledge, and experience independently. Duties vary depending on the specialty.
Key Responsibilities
* Occupational Therapy triage, assessment and rehabilitation for a defined caseload.
* Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and modify treatment interventions to meet individual patient needs.
* Assess and prescribe equipment to optimise patients’ occupational performance.
* Assess capacity to engage in OT, obtain informed consent and operate within legal framework.
Required Competencies
* Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration.
* Knowledge of theory underpinning OT practice.
* Excellent team working skills, able to work independently.
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
A driving licence is required; must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
Working Hours
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring overall pay remains unchanged.
