Simply Education are currently looking to recruit a full-time Lead Primary Teacher to join our clients team in the North Somerset area. This is a brand new school which will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 96 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive. About the role: As an experienced Primary SEN Lead Teacher (KS1 & KS2), you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional, specialist education to pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism and associated needs. Based within a small, well-supported specialist primary hub, you will work across two classes to create a structured, nurturing, and highly inclusive learning environment. Your focus will be on fostering communication, encouraging engagement, and supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, enabling every child to thrive. You will lead a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, working collaboratively to support all areas of development - from academic progress and communication skills to social interaction and emotional regulation. Teaching will be tailored and purposeful, with personalised learning programmes aligned to each pupil's EHCP outcomes and individual needs. Working closely with colleagues and multi-disciplinary professionals, you will help ensure a consistent, high-quality provision across the hub. Your contribution will be key in maintaining a calm, predictable environment where pupils feel safe, make meaningful progress, and build the confidence and independence they need for the future. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - essential Experience in a special school setting. Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally Autism. Experience of managing a small team of teaching assistants. Strong knowledge of the Primary national curriculum Skilled in planning, assessment, and classroom management.
