A highly regarded specialist school in Stroud is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join their team. The school supports children and young people aged 4–16 who have been diagnosed with Autism and additional learning needs. Every pupil has an individual education and health care plan, along with tailored interventions designed to help them succeed both academically and emotionally.
As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning, daily activities, emotional regulation, and development of key life skills that encourage independence.
Responsibilities
* Delivering targeted interventions tailored to pupils’ needs and goals
* Supporting children in working through their emotions and challenges
* De-escalating behaviour and providing calm, consistent support
* Creating a safe, engaging and positive classroom environment
* Helping pupils develop social and functional life skills alongside academic progress
Qualifications and qualities

* Committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
* Determined to make a difference in children’s lives
* This role would particularly suit psychology graduates, as well as individuals with backgrounds in sport, art, drama or music — previous experience isn’t essential. What matters most is commitment and willingness to support young people.
