Teaching Personnel are recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants / SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist settings, including SEMH schools, alternative provisions and specialist education environments throughout East Manchester.

Your Role
You’ll work closely with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them feel safe, understood and ready to learn. Responsibilities may include:
Supporting pupils 1:1 or within the classroom
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Encouraging communication, confidence and engagement
Supporting pupils through routines, transitions and challenges
Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and specialists
Gaining experience across diverse and supportive educational settings
Your presence, consistency and approach will play a vital role in helping pupils re‑engage with education.

Is This Role Right for You?
You’re likely to thrive if you have:
Experience supporting children or young people (education, care, youth work or similar)
Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Confidence in managing behaviour and emotional needs
A calm, resilient and proactive attitude
A genuine passion for supporting social, emotional and academic development
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
