Overview

Pebbles Care has an incredible opportunity to work in partnership with our established team and become an essential part of our children's lives. This role covers every aspect of home life, from driving our children to and from school, appointments, and visits (a full UK manual driving licence is required) to food preparation, household chores, and making lasting memories through fun-filled activities, outings, and holidays. You will be employed full-time as a dedicated team member, averaging 56.4 hours per week, including sleep hours. During your induction, you will learn about our therapeutic care model in training with our Learning and Development team. Our Psychology, Education, and Senior Management Team will also provide expert support and guidance. You will be based within one home on a full-time basis, with occasional support for other homes within the same geographical area.


Responsibilities

* Provide support tailored to the young person’s needs, either one-to-one or two-to-one, on shift as part of a collaborative team.
* Drive and accompany children to and from school, appointments, and visits (full UK manual driving licence required).
* Support with food preparation and household chores as part of daily home life.
* Engage in planning and delivering fun-filled activities, outings, and holidays to create positive memories.
* Work within one home on a full-time basis, with potential to support other homes in the same area.
* Complete induction and training on PebblesCare’s therapeutic care model with the Learning and Development team.
* Receive ongoing expert support and guidance from our Psychology, Education, and Senior Management teams.


Qualifications and Requirements

* A full UK manual driving licence is required.
* Dedication to safeguarding children and young people.
* A strong desire to obtain qualifications and pursue personal development.
* Confident and resilient nature.
* A kind and supportive demeanour with patience and non-judgmental relationships.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills, including experience with Microsoft packages.
* Desirable: up to 12 months of experience working with children or young adults (more than 12 months may qualify for higher salary levels).
* Working towards, or a desire to obtain, SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma relevant to the Children and Young People’s Residential workforce (funding may be available).
* Familiar with Codes of Practice set out by regulatory bodies.
* Existing PVG/DBS certificate is desirable.


Salary and Benefits

* Starting salary: £34,719.00 to £36,248.00 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
* Full-time role operates on a rota pattern of one day on (24 hours, including sleepover) and two days off (48 hours).
* Your average weekly working hours, including sleepovers, are 56.4. Part-time and zero-hour contracts may be available on request.
* 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time contracts).
* 100% funding for Level 3 SVQ/NVQ qualification in Residential Child Care via Pebbles Learning and Development.
