Financial Compliance Manager Full Time, Permanent £50,000 - £60,000 Full Time, Permanent
SF Recruitment are delighted to be working with a Financial & Legal services business in Derby in their search for a Financial Compliance Manager. As the Financial Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules, overseeing the day-to-day operation of client accounts, and safeguarding client money within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure full compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules and relevant regulatory requirements.
* Manage daily client account transactions including receipts, payments, and transfers.
* Oversee client account reconciliations (daily/weekly/monthly) and resolve discrepancies.
* Maintain accurate accounting records for client and office accounts.
* Prepare reports for senior management.
* Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
* Review and approve client money movements and high-risk transactions.
* Provide guidance and training to staff on client money handling procedures.
* Identify and escalate breaches or risks promptly.
* Assist with policy development and continuous improvement of financial controls.
The ideal Financial Compliance Manager:
* Strong knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.
* Experience managing client accounts within a UK law firm or business that holds client money
* Proven ability to reconcile client accounts accurately.
* High level of attention to detail and integrity.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
* Competent user of legal accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
