Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Assistants to work within a range of SEN schools across the Bolton area. These roles are to start in September for the new academic year, with both long-term placements and permanent opportunities available for the right candidates.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH needs, and learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities
* Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
* Implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to positive behaviour management
* Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and life skills
* Support personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and respect
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times
* Follow safeguarding procedures in line with school and statutory guidance
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Observe, record, and report pupil progress and wellbeing
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience preferred but not essential)
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Passion for supporting vulnerable learners and improving outcomes
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
