Job Description
Location: Frodsham, Cheshire
Salary: £95 - £105 daily rate (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: [Full-time - Temporary]
Start Date: September 2026
Job Purpose
To support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education, ensuring all pupils are engaged, supported, and able to achieve their full potential within a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons and learning activities
* Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and support progress
* Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and materials
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
* Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where required
* Promote good behaviour and assist with classroom management
* Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and educational visits
* Observe and report on pupil progress and behaviour to the class teacher
* Provide pastoral support and help promote pupils’ wellbeing
Person SpecificationEssential Requirements
* Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* A patient, caring, and supportive approach
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths)
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3)
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND
* Knowledge of the primary curriculum
