Supply Chain Planner
The RoleWe are looking for a proactive Supply Chain Planner to join our client's team in Leeds. This role is a 12-month assignment covering a leave of absence, focusing on managing a complex range of global suppliers and ensuring seamless operational flow within our client's supply chain.
You will be responsible for balancing customer service levels with inventory targets, managing demand, and eliminating potential failures through preventive planning and cross-functional collaboration.
Location: Leeds (Hybrid - Minimum 3 days onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £21 - £23 per hour
Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Management: Actively manage performance for global suppliers, handling escalations and driving continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
Inventory & Demand: Monitor and manage inventory levels and supply/demand trends to meet customer service targets.
Operational Excellence: Lead daily planning processes and use Six Sigma methodologies to implement short-term tactical improvements.
Risk Mitigation: Identify and eliminate supply chain bottlenecks, championing preventive practices to minimize the need for expedited shipping.
Collaboration: Partner with data teams to optimize planning parameters and track inbound materials.
What You'll Need to SucceedBackground: Ideally a degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent professional experience in Supply Chain/Planning.
Technical Knowledge: An understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), network exception management, and inbound materials tracking.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and identify key influencing parameters for supply chain optimization.
Communication: Proven experience in supplier performance management and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
