PRINCIPAL CHEMICAL REGULATORY CONSULTANT
Location: Remote - UK or Ireland
I am representing a respected regulatory consultancy that supports chemical and life-science companies with compliance across REACH, CLP, BPR, and GHS. The organisation has grown rapidly in recent years, known for combining technical depth with commercial understanding. However, they were also one of the key founding consultancies servicing the chemical sector back in 2008.
They are now seeking a Senior Chemical Regulatory Consultant to join their EU consulting division. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a technically capable regulatory professional who enjoys client engagement, business development, and hands-on regulatory problem-solving.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is a role for someone who wants variety, visibility, and ownership. You’ll act as a trusted partner to chemical and downstream industry clients — advising on compliance, registration strategy, and regulatory positioning across the full spectrum of EU regulations.
What makes this different is the balance between technical consulting and client development. You’ll not only manage ongoing projects but also help identify and shape new opportunities, representing the business at industry events, webinars, and client meetings.
The company’s growth has been driven by its reputation for responsiveness and accuracy. You’ll join a collaborative international team that values clear communication, scientific integrity, and practical delivery. Hybrid working is available, but this position is best suited to someone who enjoys in-person collaboration in a fast-moving, multilingual environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide regulatory advice and consultancy to clients across REACH, CLP, Biocides (BPR) and GHS frameworks -
* Interpret legislation, prepare compliance strategies, and support registration and classification activities
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, acting as a key contact for technical and strategic questions
* Prepare and deliver regulatory insights, proposals, and presentations tailored to client industries
* Participate in business development initiatives including conferences, webinars, and client visits
* Collaborate closely with internal experts to ensure quality and consistency across consulting projects
Key Requirements
* Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or Regulatory Affairs; MSc preferred
* 5+ years’ experience in EU chemical regulatory consulting, compliance, or client-facing project delivery - IUCLID experience
* Strong understanding of REACH, CLP, Biocides (BPR), and GHS; familiarity with non-EU frameworks (US TSCA, China REACH) is advantageous. If you are stronger in one of the areas over the other, we encourage you to still apply.
Additional Information
This is a fully remote opportunity offering flexibility alongside in-person collaboration. The package includes a competitive salary, annual bonus, health insurance allowance, pension scheme, holiday bonus, and regular company events.
You’ll be joining a forward-thinking international consultancy with clear progression routes and access to continuous professional development.
