Technical Service Supervisor / Manager - Smoke Control Department
Salary: c£50,000 per year plus KPI bonus and package
Purpose of the Role
The Technical Service Manager for the Smoke Control Department plays a pivotal role in driving division growth and success. Responsibilities include providing technical expertise, supporting new inquiries and customers, and identifying business expansion opportunities through cross-selling and strategic engagement. The role also involves delivering high-quality service via meticulous project management, quoting, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. A thorough understanding of AOV systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
o Act as the primary technical support for new inquiries and potential customers.
o Proactively identify and engage with clients not currently using smoke control services, presenting tailored solutions.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster cross-selling opportunities.
o Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities within the sector.
2. Enquiry Handling and Quoting
o Manage incoming inquiries related to smoke control systems.
o Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and develop accurate, competitive quotations.
o Prepare detailed proposals for remedial works during planned maintenance activities.
3. Project Management and Delivery
o Ensure all projects are delivered to high standards, meeting client expectations and company objectives.
o Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors for timely project execution.
o Monitor progress and address issues or delays promptly.
4. Compliance and Documentation
o Ensure all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are uploaded and assigned correctly.
o Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
o Oversee quality assurance to meet regulatory and client standards.
5. Client and Stakeholder Communication
o Serve as the main contact for smoke control inquiries and projects.
o Provide technical advice and support throughout project lifecycles.
o Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Reporting and Analysis
o Track and report division performance metrics such as revenue, enquiry conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
o Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decisions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Growth in division revenue.
* Conversion rate of inquiries to secured projects.
* Number of cross-selling opportunities successfully converted.
* Compliance with RAMS and safety standards.
* Customer satisfaction and retention rates.
Working Conditions
* Initial onboarding and training in the office, followed by onsite meetings and shadowing colleagues for a few weeks.
* Hybrid working arrangement: predominantly home-based, with site visits and office attendance 2-3 times a month. This will be reviewed during probation.
