Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The Maternity Service offers Support Workers a unique opportunity to work with midwives caring for birthing people, babies, and families. The postholder will assist and deliver care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postnatal periods, providing physical, psychological, and emotional support within the role’s scope.

* The role involves shift work, including nights and weekends.
* Ability to work in a team, engaging and communicating effectively with others.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential criteria
* Recent experience as a healthcare carer
* Level 3 healthcare qualification (e.g., NVQ, Diploma)
* Numeracy and literacy skills at level 2 (GCSE grade C/4 or above)
* Experience in hospital or community medical settings
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
* Self-motivated and conscientious
* Aware of personal limitations
* Willing to learn from peers
Desirable criteria
* Proficiency in phlebotomy with recent experience
* Care Certificate qualification or commitment to undertake it
* Willingness to undertake additional training in the specialty
* Experience in maternity services or similar
* Evidence of continuous professional development
