This holiday season we are looking for a Mission Christmas HQ Co-ordinator to join us for Mission Christmas in Manchester. Mission Christmas is the largest Christmas gift appeal in the UK. Our aim is to ensure every child wakes up to a present on Christmas morning. Rising costs have increased need for help, and Mission Christmas aims to bring Christmas magic to children who would otherwise miss out.
The Mission Christmas HQ Co-ordinator has a vital role to play in making our mission a reality. This is a temporary role where you will be helping to organise and manage the campaign locally.
Main Responsibilities
* Coordinate the smooth operation of the Mission Christmas HQ where donated gifts are received, sorted and prepared for collection by local partner organisations.
* Manage a team of volunteers.
* Manage drivers who will collect donated gifts from key locations across the area.
* Liaise with Mission Christmas drop-off points and partner organisations (e.g., social services, refuges, schools) to ensure gifts reach children in time for Christmas Day.
* Communicate with individuals, community groups, schools and businesses fundraising or donating to the Mission Christmas campaign.
* Collect photos, audio and video content to be used on radio stations, social media and digital platforms.
* Moving and lifting gifts as required.
What You'll Bring
* Basic knowledge of Office applications; understanding of main social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram) is preferable.
* Passion for ensuring every child has a magical Christmas moment.
* Organised, flexible, enthusiastic and dedicated to the mission.
* Current, full clean UK driving licence and own transportation.
* This is a temporary role with provisional dates 17 November to 23 December. Working hours: Mon-Fri, 9am–4pm.
