Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled FLT Counterbalance Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift machinery to handle materials efficiently and safely within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks. The ideal applicant will have previous warehouse experience and be committed to maintaining high safety standards while supporting shipping and receiving operations.
What is required:
1. IN-DATE EXTERNAL FLT Counterbalance license
Hours:
2. 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday 45hrs per week
Pay:
3. £12.71 per hour
Responsibilities:
4. Operate counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and transport materials across the warehouse
5. Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately
6. Perform routine equipment repairs and maintenance checks on forklift machinery
7. Handle materials with care, ensuring safe stacking and storage practices
8. Assist with shipping and receiving duties, including documentation and inventory control
9. Conduct basic mathematical calculations for inventory counts and measurements
10. Support the organisation of stock locations and optimise storage space
11. Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times during material handling activities
Experience:
12. Proven experience operating forklift trucks
13. IN-DATE EXTERNAL FLT Counterbalance license
14. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is highly desirable
15. Previous experience in materials handling within a warehouse setting is preferred
16. Mechanical knowledge or basic equipment repair skills are advantageous
17. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
18. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
19. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and recording stock data
20. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures within a logistics environment
