What We're Looking For
* Essential qualifications: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent (proof required).

What You'll Do
* Dispense and issue medicines, including controlled drugs and unlicensed products.
* Support ward stock top-ups and emergency orders.
* Handle deliveries, stock rotation, and automated dispensing systems.
* Work across multiple hospital sites as part of a dynamic and supportive team.
Where You'll Work
Primarily based at Royal Liverpool Hospital, with rotation across other Trust sites including Broadgreen Hospital. Travel flexibility is essential.

Main Responsibilities & Duties
* Dispense and issue medicines, including controlled drugs and unlicensed medicines, in accordance with policy and safe systems.
* Order and supply pharmaceuticals as part of the ward stock top‑up service.
* Load medicines received into the automated dispensing machine.
* Answer basic reception queries and refer to senior staff as required.
* Input data into the pharmacy computer system and keep records up to date.
* Receive medicines and ensure documentation and computer entry are accurate and timely.
* Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies, liaising with invoicing staff and documenting outcomes.
* Store pharmaceutical preparations appropriately, rotate stock at point of receipt, and participate in safe disposal processes.
* Manually handle IV fluids, bulk feed deliveries, and maneuver cages and tote boxes for delivery to departments and outside clinics.
* Deliver medicines to wards and departments as required.
* Deal with routine and frequent queries including telephone enquiries from internal and external customers.
* Fix basic errors in automated dispensing machinery.
* Participate in daily stock counts and prepare medicines on the To‑Follow list.
* Contribute to development and project work within the Trust and Pharmacy Directorate.
* Respond to ad‑hoc stock requests and urgent emergency orders.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and other relevant regulations.
* Participate in weekend, bank holiday, statutory holiday, early morning, and evening services as per departmental arrangements.
* Undertake other reasonable duties commensurate with this role.
* Adapt to changes in equipment, policies, procedures, and hours of working.
Qualifications
* GCSE grade C/4 or above (must include Maths and English) or equivalent such as functional skills.
Experience
* Experience working in a healthcare environment.
* Experience of stock rotation.
* Experience of working in stores and distribution.
Skills
* Methodical with attention to detail.

Additional Information
* Level 2 Pharmacy qualification training will be required if not already held.
* Weekends, late nights, and bank holidays will be part of the rota.
