We are looking to build a bank of Occupational Therapy Assistants who can work part-time hours for us as required. This would be potentially across any of our sites and any of our teams, but focussed on the Royal Sussex County Hospital Brighton, Princess Royal Hospital Haywards Heath and Newhaven Rehab. The posts would ideally suit Occupational Therapy students who have 2-3 days per week where they are available to work and gain experience in different teams whilst training as an OT.
Bank hours are not guaranteed each week and you may be asked to move around different teams as we will use our bank staff to cover vacancies in teams, but as a Bank staff member you can also say how many hours you can offer and where your preferred site would be.
Previous bank staff who have been OT students have gone on to find band 5 jobs with UHS so the job is a great way for you to find out what UHS OT is like to work for whilst gaining valuable experience along the way.
We are looking for an passionate, creative and motivated individuals who have excellent communication, time management and organisational skills required to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job
o To apply, under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist, technical and creative skills in the provision of a flexible, patient centred programme of Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments.
o To work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in providing a programme of Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments for a selected caseload of patients, being able to make alterations when required by assessment of patient progress
o To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
