About the Role
As Head of Boarding, you will be a visible, proactive presence across our boarding houses, motivating students and staff alike. You will oversee and enhance our dynamic boarding programme, ensuring every student enjoys a safe, supportive, and enriching residential experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership of Boarding Staff: Inspire and guide all boarding staff, model the school’s 12 Pillars ethos, chair weekly meetings, conduct appraisals, and support professional development.
* Boarding Activities & Enrichment: Design, lead, and evaluate a diverse programme of activities and events that promote personal growth, engagement, wellbeing, and enjoyment.
* Student Welfare & Safeguarding: Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, oversee welfare plans, and act as a trusted mentor for students and parents.
* Administration & Compliance: Oversee boarding house operations, maintain records, ensure compliance with regulations, and collaborate with academic and administrative departments.
* Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships within the boarding community, promote participation in extracurricular and leadership opportunities, and champion inclusion and diversity.
Skills & Requirements
* Proven leadership experience in an educational or boarding environment.
* Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.
* Strong organisational, problem‑solving, and team‑management abilities.
* Genuine passion for working with young people and promoting their wellbeing.
* Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and creating a positive boarding culture.
* Current DSL certification or willingness to obtain.
