Instrument Engineer Job Specification
As an Instrument Engineer, you will work within a small team of engineers, contract support staff, and admin personnel in a friendly office environment.
While primarily office-based, you will need to attend meetings and provide commissioning support at customer sites. Site visits are usually within the UK but may occasionally require worldwide travel. The role involves managing control & instrumentation design and consultancy projects (ranging from circa £10K to £200K) from sale to site commissioning. Strong communication skills, both technical and commercial, are essential as the role is customer-facing. Responsibilities include a wide range of engineering design and project management tasks, with a focus on reading and interpreting technical documents such as industry standards, client specifications, P&IDs, and logic diagrams.
You should be capable of applying problem-solving and analytical techniques, planning and executing system testing. This position offers opportunities for skills development and training across sectors like oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation.
