SEN English Teacher
TLTP is seeking an experienced English Teacher to start in September 2025 at an all-through special needs school that follows the national curriculum, including GCSEs. Class sizes range from 8 to 10 pupils, with at least two Teaching Assistants per class, across Year 5/6 to Year 11.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach KS3 and KS4 English, with knowledge of iGCSE English Language and Literature (Cambridge 0500 and Pearson Edexcel) considered beneficial.
Responsibilities include:
1. Delivering pupil-focused, creative lessons according to the timetable, including cover lessons when necessary.
2. Providing opportunities for pupils to experience English in various contexts.
3. Differentiating the curriculum to meet ASD pupils' needs and developing Individual Education, Behaviour, and Integration Plans (IEBIP) with SMART targets.
4. Taking a holistic approach to pupil development, using diverse social care and teaching strategies to ensure safety and well-being.
5. Ensuring pupils reach their potential with high expectations and outstanding teaching.
6. Maintaining a calm demeanor, sense of humor, and a strong commitment to safeguarding children.
Qualifications and experience required:
1. QTS or QTLS for special needs teachers.
2. Experience leading in your subject area with a track record of achieving exceptional progress.
3. Experience working with ASD, SEMH, EBD pupils, and strong behavior management skills.
4. Secondary or Primary experience in special needs education.
5. Passion, enthusiasm, and vibrancy.
6. Available from September 2025.
