Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions that support our business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of various operating systems, virtualisation technologies, and cloud services. The Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
Duties
* Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions using AWS, Azure, and VMware technologies.
* Manage and optimise Linux and Windows operating systems to ensure high availability and performance.
* Develop and maintain scripts using Bash (Unix shell), Python, or Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
* Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
* Configure and manage Virtual Private Networks (VPN) for secure remote access.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to APIs, SQL databases, and Oracle environments.
* Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices across all infrastructure components.
* Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
Experience
* Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure in a cloud environment (AWS or Azure preferred).
* Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
* Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
* Familiarity with programming languages such as Java and Python is advantageous.
* Experience with database management systems including SQL and Oracle.
* Understanding of networking concepts and protocols related to VPNs.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
