Assistant Project Manager - Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid working available)

The Alliance is a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects safely, on time, and within budget—while embedding sustainability and driving efficient project outcomes across the programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of projects in line with programme, cost, and quality targets, proactively managing risks and opportunities.
* Attend site to gather information and translate insights into clear, value-added reports and presentations.
* Promote sustainability in both design and construction, focusing on reducing carbon, waste, and energy use.
* Coordinate project activities across design, construction, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.
* Provide support to the Project Delivery Manager to ensure efficient project close‑out and successful final account completion.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify challenges and drive continuous improvement in delivery.
What You’ll Bring
* Experience supporting project delivery or coordinating complex activities.
* Willingness to travel across the region as required.
* A background in construction or infrastructure, with an interest in developing a career in project or commercial management.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
* A proactive and accountable approach, with the confidence to take ownership and drive performance.
* Good IT skills and openness to new technologies.
* Resilience, with the ability to maintain focus and performance in a fast‑paced environment.
