The role
As a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This opportunity will involve working as part of a JV team on the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework. This seven-year framework, with the option of a further three years, will deliver specialist nuclear technical services valued between £-million to £-million to support DIO, Navy Command and other MOD organisations.
The framework will support the Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) and wider Royal Navy and defence requirements. Its primary focus will be on delivering the refurbishment and upgrade of critical infrastructure at HMNB Clyde.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems, such as HVAC, water, drainage, and fire protection—for nuclear facilities. You’ll oversee technical documentation, guide CAD modelling, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, mentor junior engineers, and engage with stakeholders to deliver integrated and innovative solutions.
1. Lead the design of mechanical building services systems, ensuring alignment with nuclear safety cases, operational requirements and environmental control needs
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, structural and safety engineering disciplines
3. Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant standards and codes (e.g. CIBSE, BS EN, ASHRAE) and nuclear-specific procedures
4. Oversee the production and review of technical deliverables, including schematics, calculations, equipment schedules and CAD/Revit models
5. Support stakeholder engagement and project planning, resolving technical challenges and maintaining design integrity throughout the project lifecycle
This is a full-time, permanent position (37 hours per week) and is based onsite in Glasgow.

6. Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions across a variety of project types
7. Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse range of engineering tasks, from straightforward to highly complex challenges
8. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with colleagues across disciplines, clients and stakeholders
Qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer:
9. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, or equivalent academic qualification
