The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Tax Assistant to join the Equity & Employment Tax team. EY offers excellent opportunities to build client relationships early in your career and to be involved in the day‑to‑day management and delivery of our services across a broad range of issues, going beyond both tax compliance and advisory.

Your key responsibilities
1. Supporting the management of client portfolios.
2. Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering consistently high levels of service.
3. Contributing to the successful delivery of employment tax projects and ensuring technical accuracy.
4. Supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of both compliance and advisory work.
5. Contributing to business development by proactively managing existing client relationships.
6. Ensuring adherence to Quality and Risk Management processes.
Skills and Attributes for Succes
7. Prior experience as an equity and/or employment tax practitioner is desirable although candidates with transferable skills and experience will be considered.
8. Enthusiastic and energetic; able to embrace new ways of working.
9. Team player: ability to integrate with new teams quickly
10. Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality output
11. Strong technical skills and keen to develop further
12. Ability to build strong client relationship
13. Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
14. ATT/ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/Law qualification desirable, support can be offered to candidates seeking to study towards a professional qualification
15. Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards
16. Client focused and commercially aware
17. Relationship management skills with ability to manage client expectations
18. Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
19. Excellent communicator in range of situations both written and oral
20. Experience working within professional services
