LEGAL COUNSEL (14 MONTH FTC) – ENERGY/INFRASTRUCTURE

Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are presently representing a global independent solar power producer in their search for a Legal Counsel to join their legal team on a 14-month maternity cover fixed term contract.
Key Accountabilities:
* As Legal Counsel, and reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Commercial, you will be responsible for driving legal strategy, and ensuring legal risk is effectively managed.
* You will work in collaboration with local legal colleagues and business partners on a variety of legal matters and you will ensure compliance with global company policies and function-wide requirements, including legal panel management, shared technologies, and compliance frameworks.
* You will be responsible for working with multiple business stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach to all legal needs, managing the legal aspects of local energy projects and other transactional matters.
* You will oversee governance and corporate secretarial requirements.
* You will review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts across all business functions and provide legal support on various local matters, including employment, property, and other business operations.
About You:
* A solicitor qualified in England and Wales
* At least 5 years of post-qualified experience, some of which gained in house
* Experience of an energy projects environment is a must with renewable energy experience desirable
* A broad range of commercial legal experience including the majority of commercial contracts, governance, employment law, property law, and company secretarial matters
* Excellent technical legal and communication skills
* A problem-solving mindset with a commercial and business-oriented approach
