We seek a professional and driven candidate to join us as an Executive in our new Financial Reporting team. The team will elevate the provision of accounting and reporting services to Audit clients, reflecting the firm’s growing portfolio.
Joining as an Executive, the primary scope of the role will be to take full ownership of providing a best-in-class accounts preparation & financial reporting service for our varied portfolio of Audit clients, including multinational groups, PLCs, listed companies, owner-managed businesses, leading charities, large academies and schools. As a key member of one of the largest Audit teams in the Thames Valley region, you will work to ensure client requirements are met and deliver high-quality service.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of statutory accounts, financial reports, consolidations and disclosures under a range of reporting and accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP, Charities SORP, FRS 102, etc.).
* Support the Audit team with client queries regarding clients’ accounts.
* Assist in finalising statutory financial statement production as part of the audit process.
* Coordinate with departments across the firm to meet client requirements and provide high levels of service.
* Act as a key contact with clients to identify areas of judgement, provisioning and risks.
* Understand regulatory requirements of each client and maintain CPD related to regulator updates to relevant standards.
* Provide general and ad-hoc support to the Audit team.
Suitable skills, knowledge and experience
* Experience of preparing full sets of statutory accounts in a professional services environment. Familiarity with IFRS, UK GAAP, Charity SORP, FRS 102, etc.
* Experience in group accounts preparation including consolidations and accounting for acquisitions/disposals and minority interest.
* Experience in preparing cashflow statements within statutory accounts.
* Experience with accounts production software (e.g. CaseWare).
* Some audit experience is preferable but not essential.
* Commitment to professional self-development and delivering exemplary client service.
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills; ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues and provide proactive, value-adding service.
* Accountancy qualification (such as ACA or ACCA or equivalent) would be preferred.
