*Job Summary:*
We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team as a Receptionist/Ophthalmic Technician. This role combines front-of-house responsibilities with assisting the clinical team in providing exceptional patient care.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Receptionist Duties:*
* Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner.
* Manage patient flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience.
* Answer and direct phone calls promptly and professionally.
* Schedule and manage patient appointments.
* Book appointments and handle appointment requests effectively.
* Process patient payments accurately.
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
* Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
* Provide general administrative support to the clinic manager and team.
*Ophthalmic Technician Duties:*
* Perform a range of diagnostic tests on patients, including (training provided):
* Autorefractor
* Intraocular pressure measurements
* Corneal topography
* Optical coherence tomography
* Biometry
* Specular microscopy
* Focimeter
* Ideally, but not a must, prior optical experience is advantageous.
* Assist medical staff with patient examinations as required.
* Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment.
* Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
*General Support Duties:*
* Answer patient inquiries and address concerns.
* Confirm appointments and provide appointment reminders.
* Register patients on the electronic system.
* Assist with annual leave coverage and other administrative tasks.
* Prepare clinic lists and patient files.
* Perform other ad-hoc reception and support duties as needed.
*Essential Skills:*
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
* Professional demeanor and excellent patient care experience.
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Ideally, but not a must, prior experience as a Patient Liaison or in a similar role would be advantageous.
*Desirable Skills:*
* Prior experience in the ophthalmic industry.
* Knowledge of relevant ophthalmic procedures and terminology.
