Highly Specialist MSK Physiotherapist
Band 7 Permanent Post
(Part time hours will be considered)
With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay
An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide highly specialist physiotherapy intervention in our MSK Outpatient departments based primarily within Kings Cross Health & Community Care Centre, GP practices across Dundee. You may also be asked to work at Ninewells Hospital at times.
The Physiotherapy service in Tayside is dedicated to deliver the best service possible through expanding skills and knowledge, streamlining services and providing the best in patient care.
These posts are part of the First Contact service development working within a Physiotherapy Hub, GP practices across Dundee and also as part of the mainstream MSK service. With increasing demands on GP time for MSK conditions, there is a drive to deliver preventative and anticipatory healthcare at the point of need, and as such the main part of this role will be to act as a first point of contact for patients attending the GP practice with an MSK condition.
Ongoing personal and professional development is essential to provide a quality service and is supported through CPD workshops, professionally supervision and appraisals, in-service training and involvement within the Tayside Practice Development Network.
Our clinicians are supported in developing the skills required to deliver quality care to our patients within FCP and their MSK caseload. This includes injection therapy, the requesting of radiographic imaging as well as non-medical independent prescribing. The Physiotherapy Departments have strong links to Universities providing student placements primarily from Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Applicants must be registered with HCPC.
Informal enquiries/visits welcome. Please contact Duncan Rear, MSK APP / Team Lead, on 01382 425668.
