About This Role

S We are looking for an intervention/booster teacher to deliver high-quality, targeted teaching interventions across Key Stage 1 and 2 to pupils who require additional support in achieving age-related expectations or exceeding them. Although we would ideally be looking for someone with QTS, we would consider those who have worked as a HLTA or similar across KS2. We reservice the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date.

The ideal candidate will work either 3 or 4 days per week, on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave, 1st September 2025 to 20th July 2026 with the potential to extend. We would also consider a highly qualified HLTA, again dependent upon experience.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic intervention teacher who has a proven record of working at a high standard which supports excellent outcomes for children within a school.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver engaging, effective booster sessions and interventions tailored to pupil needs across the school, with a particular focus on KS2.
* Use formative and summative assessment data to identify target pupils and measure impact of interventions.
* Collaborate with class teachers to ensure interventions align with in-class learning.
* Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the varying learning styles and abilities of pupils.
* Maintain detailed records of pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and senior leaders.
* Contribute to pupil progress meetings and support the school’s strategies for narrowing attainment gaps.
* Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude to learning.
* Participate in relevant CPD to enhance intervention strategies and maintain best practice.
* Cover classes when the need arises
* Person Specification - Essential
* Proven experience of teaching within KS2
* Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
* Demonstrated ability to raise attainment and deliver measurable pupil progress
* Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with children
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Experience in using assessment data to inform planning and teaching

Person Specification – Desirable

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience delivering small group or 1:1 interventions
* Understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching strategies
* Familiarity with current KS2 curriculum expectations and assessment frameworks
* Ability to adapt intervention programmes based on real-time feedback and pupil need
