Director of Marketing
Lead the global marketing strategy and execution for Steplab, driving brand growth and campaign effectiveness across the UK, USA, AU, and English‑medium international schools.
Location & Salary
Work from home with occasional meetings in London. Salary £75,000–£80,000.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with global growth targets.
* Build a clear, consistent global brand that positions Steplab as a key partner for schools.
* Design and oversee engagement communications across the entire customer journey to support partner retention.
* Initially manage and mentor the Marketing Manager; subsequently grow and lead a marketing team.
* Transition outsourced paid media campaigns in‑house as the team expands.
* Lead integrated campaigns across paid, organic, and email channels, using data‑driven insights to refine performance.
* Develop global organic search and paid media strategies to increase visibility and manage technical SEO and keyword research.
* Produce clear ROI reports on campaign impact.
* Lead a content strategy rooted in Steplab’s pedagogical expertise, producing high‑quality thought leadership.
* Oversee the execution of webinars, white papers, and research‑led campaigns that deliver value to the education community.
* Approve all external communications to ensure alignment with brand tone and style.
* Maintain consistency in branding and templates across all organisational assets, both digital and printed.
Qualifications
* Senior marketing leadership experience within the education sector.
* Strong strategic skills: use data to inform decisions, plan, and organise cross‑functional initiatives from idea to execution.
* Proven ability to scale marketing capabilities within a small, high‑performance team.
* Experience leading event, organic, paid, and email marketing campaigns.
* Experience designing and creating high‑quality marketing assets and communications.
* Experience developing end‑to‑end communications strategies for the customer journey.
* Creative thinking: develop unique and engaging strategies that resonate with school leaders and position Steplab as an expert in teacher professional development.
* Budget management expertise in marketing.
* Desirable: AI literacy – use of AI to optimise internal workflows and enhance data analytics.
* Desirable: Experience marketing SaaS products.
