We`re looking for an experienced finance professional with strong service charge knowledge, leadership capability, and a passion for continuous improvement to help drive operational excellence within our Housing Finance team.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Housing Finance, you will lead a team responsible for the operational delivery of the full-service charge cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, supporting the delivery of strategic objectives while ensuring robust financial governance and legal compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing a team of Finance Officers, providing coaching, support, and performance management
* Managing the end-to-end service charge cycle, including estimates, actuals, annual reviews, and customer communications
* Ensuring service charge data is accurate, compliant, and delivered within legal deadlines
* Supporting audit readiness and maintaining strong governance and reconciliation processes
* Managing sinking funds and supporting the resolution of service charge queries and disputesBuilding strong relationships with operational teams and senior stakeholders
* Supporting process improvements, systems development, and innovation initiatives
About you
We’re seeking a proactive and commercially aware finance professional who can combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills.
You will ideally have:
* Part-qualified ACMA, ACCA, ACA or AAT qualification
* Significant experience within service charge management and housing finance
* Strong understanding of leasehold, shared ownership, and rented tenancy models
* Experience leading and developing teams in a service‑led environment
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
* The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non‑financial audiences
* A customer‑focused approach with the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
* Experience driving process improvement and operational efficiency
