Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes while maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport goods within the warehouse.
* Load and unload materials from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
* Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using the warehouse management system.
* Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
* Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery in a busy warehouse environment.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs as needed.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
* Basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping.
* Experience in materials handling, including heavy lifting and manual handling techniques.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
