We are looking for a motivated and committed GP to help drive forward excellent patient care while maintaining a good work-life balance. We are particularly interested in a GP with an interest in teaching and training, as we host students from Cambridge, UEA, and GP trainees, although this is not essential for the role.
This position is 4-6 sessions per week based solely at Framlingham Surgery. After an initial 12-month fixed-term contract via the PCN Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), there is potential for a permanent role.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a newly qualified GP to undertake 4-6 sessions per week, with no weekend work required. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care, working autonomously while collaborating with our established clinical and administrative teams.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing comprehensive medical services under the GMS contract.
* Assessing and treating patients with a diverse range of medical conditions.
* Participating in signposting, clinical supervision, and triage systems to ensure efficient patient care.
* Processing referrals, prescriptions, and administrative tasks.
* Engaging in clinical meetings and contributing to practice development.
* Supporting the training and development of colleagues, GP trainees, and students.
* Participating in local and national healthcare initiatives to enhance patient care.
* Maintaining up-to-date medical records using SystmOne.
* Occasional home or care home visits.
* No extended hours required.
About us
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a newly qualified GP to join our well-established practice in the market town of Framlingham, Suffolk. With its historic charm and excellent transport links to London, Cambridge, Norwich, and the Suffolk coast, Framlingham is an ideal location for professionals seeking a balance of rural life and accessibility.
We are a patient-focused surgery with a high QOF achievement and strong links with our Primary Care Network (PCN). Our team currently includes 3 GP partners, 2 part-time salaried GPs, an ANP, a Paramedic, and a clinical Pharmacist, serving a population of 9,500 patients. The practice operates mainly from Framlingham Surgery, with a branch surgery in Earl Soham. We benefit from an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team.
We use TPP SystmOne, AccuRx, DXS, Anima triage, and Welby for seamless communication and workflow management. Full training can be provided where necessary.
