My client is seeking a Senior Project Planner to lead the development and management of integrated schedules across several high-value, multi-year programmes.
As a core member of the Programmes team, you'll work closely with Programme Managers, Engineers, Scrum Masters, and customers to build robust, dynamic schedules that underpin delivery success, strategic decision-making, and governance. You'll play a critical role in visualising the path to delivery, managing interdependencies, and driving performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain high-quality, integrated master schedules using Microsoft Project.
* Manage the critical path, perform resource and scenario planning, and support risk-based decision-making.
* Align schedules with Agile planning inputs (epics, sprints) and traditional work package structures.
* Support programme delivery with clear, insightful schedule performance reporting.
* Own schedule governance, change control, and quality assurance processes.
* Coordinate with customer-side planners to align milestones and reporting expectations.
* Mentor team members and embed best-practice planning standards across the programme.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience managing complex, multi-year engineering schedules (defence, aerospace, or similar).
* Expert in Microsoft Project and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development.
* Strong understanding of risk-informed planning, scenario modelling, and dependency management.
* Comfortable working in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments (JIRA familiarity a plus).
* Skilled communicator with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable:
* Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) and schedule-cost integration.
* Membership of APM, PMI, or a similar professional body.
