The firm pairs the scale and resources of a national, private-equity-backed platform with the local identity and entrepreneurial culture of an independent agency. This is the senior seat in the practice. Working closely with the President, the Practice Leader owns the direction, growth, and retention strategy of the Employee Benefits business, and serves as the senior subject matter expert that benefits teams across the organization rely on. Responsibilities Lead the overall direction, strategy, and growth of the Employee Benefits practice, partnering with executive leadership, producers, and account teams. Drive client retention by helping teams deliver strategic, consultative benefit solutions, and by handling complex renewals, escalations, and strategic planning discussions. Support new business development and cross-selling across benefits, property and casualty, retirement, and specialty lines through solution design, presentations, and market insight. Build and improve the practice’s products, services, workflows, and delivery model in partnership with corporate centers of excellence. Mentor and develop benefits leaders, producers, and account managers, and build training and professional development for the team. Manage carrier and vendor relationships, attend industry events, and act as the business liaison to the EB Compliance team. Participate in M&A diligence and the integration of new corporate Employee Benefits acquisitions, especially alongside the firm’s private equity partners. Provide strategic guidance across specialty practices, including Communications & Design, Global Benefits, Pharmacy, Voluntary Benefits, and Health & Performance, and partner with Finance on commissions and budget. Qualifications 15 to 20 years of Employee Benefits experience in an insurance brokerage firm. Experience leading teams, both through direct reporting lines and by influencing key stakeholders. Proven ability to build and manage relationships, especially with senior leadership, carriers, and vendors. Experience developing client retention and revenue generation strategies. Excellent communication skills, with significant public speaking and/or executive presentation experience. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and act with appropriate levels of urgency. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to travel as needed. Compensation & Benefits $200,000 – $230,000 base salary Bonus Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan Hybrid schedule (4 days per week in office) Private-equity-backed platform with specialty resources and centers of excellence About Our Client Our client is built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. They protect and support the ambitions of individuals, families, and businesses, and they empower their people to learn, grow, lead, and make a difference. Their structure lets local teams preserve their identity, relationships, and entrepreneurial culture while drawing on the strength, resources, and expertise of corporate centers of excellence.
