Structural Steel Welder Location: Teesside Hours: 44 hours per week Contract: Temporary to Permanent About the Role We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Welder to join our client’s established fabrication and welding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with proven experience in structural steel welding to secure a long-term role with the potential to progress to a permanent position. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality welded components for a variety of projects, ensuring work is completed to exacting standards, within deadlines, and in compliance with all health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Carry out MIG and/or TIG welding on structural steel to required specifications and standards Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication diagrams, and technical instructions Measure, cut, and prepare steel components for welding Inspect and verify the quality of welded joints, ensuring compliance with quality standards Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production and project deadlines Requirements Proven experience as a Structural Steel Welder in a fabrication environment Strong knowledge of MIG welding techniques (TIG and MMA experience advantageous) Ability to read and work from technical drawings Experience in measuring and preparing structural steel components Understanding of health, safety, and quality control procedures in a workshop setting Relevant welding qualifications/certifications desirable (e.g. BS EN ISO 9606) Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work Flexibility to work overtime as required to meet project demands What We Offer Opportunity to secure a permanent role after a successful temporary period Competitive pay rates with overtime opportunities Supportive team environment with ongoing development Varied and interesting structural steel projects
