Overview
Medicines Management Assistant (Intensive Care Unit) at The Royal Oldham Hospital. This role involves medicines management and optimisation on the busy Intensive Care Unit, working with the Critical Care pharmacy team, including pharmacists and a medicines management assistant. You will gain experience of critical care ward-based medicines management, as well as assisting with dispensary work, clinical trials and mentoring. There is an opportunity to develop, with training and progression support.
You will carry out patient medication histories, manage and order medications and ward stock lists, assist with audits, provide advice to ward-based staff and counsel patients. The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure, attention to detail, the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and maintain high standards in a patient-focused service.
Applicants must be reliable, adaptable to change, capable of working in a busy environment and have excellent people skills to communicate with a wide range of healthcare professionals, patients and relatives. You must be able to prioritise workload, use initiative, work under pressure and be committed to high standards in patient care. If you do not have the required experience/qualifications to meet the Band 5 position, you will be appointed to Band 4 and supported to progress to a Band 5 post. There is a requirement to participate in a 7 day working pattern, including extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis. This role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.

* Willingness to participate in a 7 day working pattern
* Band 4 with progression potential to Band 5; sponsorship not available
