This is an exciting opportunity for experienced technicians looking to work within a high-quality manufacturing environment, preparing and finishing components to exceptional standards. The role involves preparing parts ready for painting, polishing finished components, carrying out quality checking, and supporting continuous improvement within a specialist production environment. Shifts: • Double days Week 1: • Monday – Friday • 06:00 – 14:00 Week 2: • Monday – Thursday • 13:45 – 21:45 Friday: • 13:00 – 21:00 • Overtime available most weeks, including weekends Rates of Pay: • £34,850 per year • Plus 20% shift premium Benefits: As a Prep & Finishing Technician (Automotive/Motorsport), you will receive: • 33 days holiday • Pension scheme • Life assurance • Employee assistance programme • Wellbeing support • Flexible benefits scheme • Overtime opportunities Day-to-Day Duties: As a Prep & Finishing Technician (Automotive/Motorsport), your duties will include: • Preparing automotive components ready for paint application • Polishing finished components to achieve the required surface finish • Removing paint defects and carrying out rework activities • Working with polymer and carbon components • Carrying out quality checks and inspections • Supporting continuous improvement activities within the department • Maintaining equipment and ensuring tools are kept in safe working condition • Following manufacturing processes and quality standards • Supporting and coaching other technicians where required • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S standards Essential Skills: To be successful as a Prep & Finishing Technician (Automotive/Motorsport), you will need: • Previous experience in a manufacturing, automotive, motorsport, or similar environment • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • Experience preparing components for painting or finishing • Experience with polishing, sanding, or achieving high-quality surface finishes • Confidence xxuwjjq using pneumatic tools and hand tools • The ability to follow technical instructions and processes • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team Desirable Experience: • Automotive finishing • Motorsport • Spray painting processes • Carbon fibre or composite component preparation • Quality inspection / QC processes • Coaching or supporting junior team members Training: • Full training and ongoing support provided Apply: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity as a Prep & Finishing Technician (Automotive/Motorsport), apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.
