Social Worker – Assessment pod in the MASH – (part time – 3 days a week)
Wednesday 9am to 5:30pm
Thursday 9am to 5:30pm
Friday 9am to 5pm
We are based in the centre of Milton Keynes at Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, MK9 3EJ.
All social workers must be in the office for their first four weeks, to support with their induction and
settling into the team. Once the induction period is completed, Social Workers will have the option of
working remotely on week one and three of their rota – see attached
The MASH has a core team of representatives from early help services, children’s social care, health,
probation, and the police. The MASH has strong links with education, family centres, adult social
care, housing, the youth justice service and the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
The MASH has 23 Social Workers, eight Customer Liaison Officers, four Business Support Officers,
four Team Managers and a Service Manager. The MASH is overseen by the Head of Service for Early
Help and Child Protection. From September 2025, we will also have several student Social Workers in
the team.
We are a fast-paced team, with a focus on protecting children and promoting their welfare and wellbeing in a timely manner. The MASH work in partnership with different professionals and agencies to
help us assess, understand, and meet the needs of the children and their family. We are going
through changes as we embrace the Government’s Families First Partnership Programme. It is an

* DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
* Social Work England registration
* Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
