Lliswerry High School is a thriving, multi-cultural, 11-18 mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Newport close to the M4. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Grade 5 Science Technician.
Closing Date: 15 September, 2025 12:00 AM. Salary: Grade 5 SCP 12 - 17 (£27,711 - £30,060) Pro Rata.
Duties and responsibilities
* Working with the Science department, you will be an integral part of a supportive, high achieving and well-established team.
* Servicing laboratories, carrying out general technician duties and supporting the delivery of the Science curriculum through ordering and organising stock levels and preparing materials.
* Duties will include but are not limited to: preparing for and clearing away after practical classes; preparing necessary solutions; photocopying materials as required; assisting students and teaching staff during practical classes; general duties including maintaining preparation areas, storage rooms and teaching areas in a clean and tidy condition.
Qualifications and attributes
A scientific related background and an understanding of safe protocols of work are essential. Candidates should be able to work under pressure and be strong team players who can support and promote the school's core values. Experience in Chemistry and Electronics is desirable but not essential.

Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.
