Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join a long-term construction project involving the development of a new build school in Rotherham. This is a high-profile project requiring strict adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding standards. The successful candidate will be working as part of a professional site team delivering works to programme and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all aspects of groundwork on a new build construction project
Installation of drainage systems, including deep and shallow drainage
Kerbing, paving, concreting, and ducting works
Trenching, backfilling, and reinstatement works
Working safely around live plant and machinery
Assisting machine operators and other trades as required
Reading and working from drawings and site plans
Ensuring all works are completed in line with site specifications and quality standards
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times
Complying with all site health & safety, environmental, and safeguarding procedures
Essential Requirements
Valid CSCS card (mandatory)
Proven experience working as a Groundworker on large-scale construction projects
Strong understanding of health & safety regulations on site
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a professional attitude
Desirable Requirements
Any machine tickets must be CSCS / CPCS / NPORS compliant
Experience working on education or public-sector construction projects
Safeguarding & Compliance
Due to the nature of the project, an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out prior to commencement
Candidates must be willing to comply with all safeguarding requirements associated with working on a school development
Pay & Working Hours
£20.00 per hour
Monday to Friday – Full-Time Hours
Overtime available on weekends, subject to site requirements
