HGV Technician
Salary: £54,912 per annum
Location: Northampton
Working 12 hour shifts 4 days a week on a rota basis with a 4 day weekend every other weekend
Who will you be working for?
NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company. We provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. Established in 1996, we have supported our customers to rationalise and decarbonise fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing vehicle off road (VOR) time.
What candidate are we looking for?
* Experience from within a HGV Technician/Mechanic role
* Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential
* Municipal experience including working on Refuse trucks is a plus
* Repairs and wheel alignment
* HGV Technical qualification – NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent
* Class 2 licence preferred
* Experience of working in a similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry
* Excellent customer service
* Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative
* Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices
What will be your duties?
* Undertake routine inspection and repair of internal and external customers’ vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
* Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
* Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
* Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
