We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bid Manager to join our Commercial team. This role is ideal for a confident bid professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, technically driven environment and enjoys taking full ownership of the bid lifecycle — from opportunity identification through to submission and post‑bid review.
The Bid Manager will lead and manage strategic bids across all core service areas, including Cyber Security, Managed Security Services, Penetration Testing, Risk Management, and Digital Forensics, ensuring submissions are of the highest quality, commercially robust, and aligned with the company’s growth strategy.
You will work closely with the Head of Bid Management, technical teams, and commercial stakeholders to deliver consistent, compliant, and competitive proposals that strengthen our position in the market.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification, qualification, and win strategy development through to submission and post‑bid evaluation.
* Oversee and manage the bid pipeline, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic priorities and growth objectives.
* Coordinate bid teams across technical, delivery, and commercial functions to gather accurate, timely, and relevant input.
* Develop compelling win themes and value propositions, clearly articulating our differentiators and strengths.
* Review and refine written content produced by the Bid Writer and subject matter experts, ensuring quality, clarity and compliance.
* Manage governance and compliance, ensuring internal approval processes are followed.
* Collaborate with senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on bid status, pipeline activity and performance metrics.
* Support framework and portal management, including G‑Cloud, CCS and other relevant procurement platforms.
* Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying ways to enhance templates, processes and bid performance.
* Provide operational guidance to the Bid Writer on live bids, ensuring consistency and collaboration across submissions.
Person Specification
* 6+ years’ experience in bid management, ideally within Cyber Security, Digital Forensics or IT Services.
* Demonstrable track record of leading successful public and private sector bids.
* Strong understanding of government procurement frameworks and contract compliance.
* Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple concurrent opportunities.
* Skilled communicator, able to influence and engage effectively across technical and commercial teams.
* Advanced writing, editing and presentation skills, with a strong eye for quality and brand tone.
* Proficient in CRM and bid management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams and HubSpot).
* Commercially aware, with a sound understanding of risk and value propositions.
* APMP Practitioner or equivalent certification desirable.
* Confident, collaborative and driven by achieving excellence and continuous improvement.
