Offer description

Required to start as soon as possible.

Our Breakfast and Afterschool Club (BUDS) is dedicated to providing a fun, happy and stimulating environment where all children can play, explore and develop freely.
Through our wraparound care provision, we aim to:
• Support children in developing responsibility for themselves and their actions.
• Help each child grow into a confident, independent and cooperative individual.
• Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers and school staff, working in partnership to provide high-quality play and care.
• Offer inclusive provision that is accessible to all children, meeting their individual emotional, developmental and physical needs.
• Work collaboratively with our parent body to ensure we provide a ‘home from home’ environment, where all children feel safe and confident to express themselves as individuals.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive staff team, who are part of the Education South West multi-academy trust, and to join a staffing body who are forward-thinking and dedicated to raising standards for the betterment of the school’s children

The successful candidate will prioritise building strong relationships and connections with all stakeholders and will work alongside Mrs. Evans, our BUDS Play Leader, and the team to provide a varied programme of activities that are fun, stimulating and enriching.

The successful applicant will also:
• Have a passion for inspiring learners through exciting experiences.
• Have high expectations of themselves and our pupils, modelling aspiration in their daily being.
• Be keen to engender a calm sense of support, nurture and care for our children.
• Demonstrate resilience and determination to ensure our provision is of the highest standard.
• Be flexible and adaptable to be able to meet the varied needs of our children.
• Be a positive role model for the children.
• Have a desire to develop their own skills and career progression and be part of the whole life of the school.

At Kingsteignton School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The position is subject to safer recruitment checks, in line with our safeguarding policies. This will include a DBS enhanced disclosure check and the receipt of satisfactory references.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

The role will require candidates to be available for either morning shifts (08:00-08:30), afternoon shifts (15:00-17:30/18:00) or both. It is a casual contract but will involve consistently scheduled shifts.

Please contact the school by email on or telephone on 01626 563888 if you wish to find out more or arrange a visit, which we strongly encourage.

Education South West is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post. This includes checks with past employers, an online check of publicly available information, including social media.
