We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the accounting and finance department in a professional services environment. This permanent position is based in Alton and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations.

Description
* To provide bookkeeping services, pay all bills, complete tax computations and VAT returns, prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
* Preparation of year-end financial accounts from both bookkeeping records prepared in house and from clients' records which may be incomplete.
* To ensure that all statutory returns are completed and filed on time.
* To organise the effective time management of own workload and that of the managers
and partner.
* To undertake any ad hoc projects as requested by the partners.
Profile
A successful Accounts Assistant should have:
* A strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.
* Recent experience working for an accountancy practice in a similar position.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
