The Rural Payments and Inspection Division teams of professional agricultural, customer service and administrative staff are based in a network of 17 offices located around rural Scotland. These teams manage the implementation of agricultural, environmental and rural policies, process applications for funding and provide high quality customer service.

The Scheme Processing Coordinator performs a key role in the work of the Division and is a key point of contact for farmers and the rural community. As well as engaging in a wide variety of duties combining delivering exceptional customer service and managing scheme processing, the focus and role of this post is for public safety, legislative and enforcement purposes.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
* Undertake multi-scheme assessment and processing, coordinating administrative tasks enabling the payments of claims as efficiently as possible in partnership with the P&T staff.
* Administrative co-ordinator for Appeals to manage and process any appeals forms received within 3 working days.
* Administrative livestock co-ordinator (SSBSS/SUSSS/13 day Separation Agreements) to manage the processing of claims and applications, act as the main point of contact/support for administrative queries and also co-ordinate the make-up of inspection files.
* Undertake the role of Separate Business co-ordinator issuing questionnaires as necessary, creating files, monitoring case progression and liaising with P&T lead to issue decision letters.
* Act as local Area Office IMSO to take the lead on, and ensure compliance of, protocols and formatting of all ERDM filing.
* Act as RP&S Queue Manager to ensure staff have the correct and appropriate access rights.
* Provide support to the Office Manager.

Experience:
* Demonstrated IT skills, including a detailed understanding of the range of IT systems available to Rural Payments and Inspection Directorate (RPID) that allows for successful application processing and correct verification outcomes.
* Demonstrate in depth knowledge of the Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 support schemes that RPID have available to help the farming sector.

Working pattern Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. From October 2025, the Scottish Government will require staff in hybrid-compatible roles to work in-person 40% of the time, either in an office or other agreed work location. This is a predominantly an office based role and as such the successful candidate would be expected to attend the Inverurie Area Office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
