Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of professional care and practice for service users, ensuring support of independent living, physical, cultural, social, learning, vocational aspiration, recreational and emotional needs.
* Ensure cleanliness of the setting, observing IPC measures.
* Develop positive working relationships with service users, families and team members, recognising personal limits and seeking support when required.
* Familiarise with Autism East Midlands systems and processes to deliver high standards of care and support.
* Keep up‑to‑date records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR.
* Liaise professionally with families, the clinical team and external agencies, recording appropriately within confidentiality limits.
* Further develop an understanding of autism and apply it in practice.
* Embed the CALM and Positive Behaviour Support approach within the service.
* Complete all elements of the Care Certificate and mandatory training.
* Log incidents and use IT systems regularly.
* Comply with the service finance procedures.
* Work flexibly according to the rota, rotations and contract terms.
* Communicate effectively within the team to ensure continuity of care.
* Understand communication methods of those supported and apply them.
* Follow individual support plans and risk assessments, and company policies and procedures.
* Provide personal care support when required.
* Assist in line with individual support plans.
* Adhere to the Autism East Midlands Code of Conduct.
