This primary school has 2 classes per year group, classes of around 20 children and supports a well-maintained Autism and special needs unit. About the ASD teaching assistant role: You will be working on a one-to-one basis with a child with ASD (Autism), providing day to day care and support both within in and outside of the classroom Your day will start by assisting the teacher to set up the classroom, preparing materials and activities for the day, followed by welcoming in the children and greeting your 1:1 child. Throughout the school day you will assist the class teacher with lessons and activities, manage the general behaviour in the classroom and work with small groups of pupils who require additional support with key subjects.
