JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL AUTHOR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the documents that require updating and determine the best approach to delivering them.
2. Undertake a first-pass review of documents, including:
3. Agree on the scope and methodology with client, sponsor, or technical authority.
4. Facilitate reviews and chair meetings as appropriate with owners and SME’s.
5. Pursue any further changes or clarifications in line with the plan agreed upon and update document as required.
6. Circulate updated draft, solicit feedback, and finalize documents.
7. Undertake reporting at each stage of the process to ensure progress is suitably understood and allow escalation process to take place.
8. Ensures the quality of all documents produced.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

9. Excellent written skills in English.
10. Knowledge of standard Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
11. Experience working to tight deadlines.
12. Demonstrable job coordination and administration skills.
13. Ability to deliver high-quality documentation, paying attention to detail.
14. Self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
15. Teamwork and the ability to drive progress.
16. Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
17. Proven working experience in technical writing.
18. Can use plain English that is faster to write and faster to read and can successfully convey the message across different mediums.
19. Has the ability to define process workflows and facilitate information gathering when required, making the best use of the contributors’ time.
20. Can effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, utilizing different approaches dependent on the audience and purpose.
21. Can make connections from multiple sources of information and be creative in the approaches taken and idea generation.
