We are looking for a Senior Clinical Research Nurse to coordinate and deliver clinical research studies at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). If you are committed to providing high quality care to patients and helping them to make the right decisions about their treatment options, with the skills to guide and advise them throughout their research journey, this role could be for you.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is capable of contributing to the development of research within the Paediatric Oncology, Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant research team. The team facilitates and supports the delivery of research within the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, predominantly on Ward 86 (inpatient Oncology and Haematology), Ward 84 Day Case Unit/Outpatients, Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and Paediatric Stem Cell Unit.
Current research undertaken within the team includes but is not limited to a wide range of commercial and non-commercial early and late phase studies looking at the efficacy, safety and tolerability of Paediatric Oncology and Haematology treatments. The team also supports Bone Marrow Transplant, CAR-T and other advanced gene therapy studies. We value all of our patients and our aims as a team are to ensure they feel informed and supported throughout their research journey.
The post holder will be a key member of the clinical research team. They will be proactive in the management, co-ordination and facilitation of clinical trial activities to support delivery of current and future studies in the Paediatric Haematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant and Gene Therapy fields.
The post holder will take a proactive approach in identifying and recruiting potential research participants, alongside clinical duties including providing the highest quality patient care and collecting and processing samples.
They will be the main point of contact for study principal investigators, sponsors and patients and so effective communication and team working skills are essential. They will be involved in ensuring that research undertaken at MFT safeguards the well-being of patients and is undertaken within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
The post holder will have a key role in providing and maintaining appropriate patient focused environment within the research setting. They will ensure data collection is to its highest standards, facilitating the production of good quality research with a commitment to the patient’s safety and well-being.
